Liu Rodriguez played one season in the major leagues with the 1999 Chicago White Sox as a 22-year-old middle infielder. He played in the minors from 1995-2001, was in Mexico in 2002 and 2005, and played independent ball in 2006.
With Cancun in 2005, he hit .331 and with Newark in 2006 he hit .318.
Rodriguez was on the Venezuelan national team in the 2007 Baseball World Cup and hit .286/.423/.429 as their second baseman. He was 3 for 8 with a double in the 2007 Pan American Games.
