[edit] 1950 & 1951

In 1950 the new Lima Phillies (replacing the hapless Lima Terriers and Lima Chiefs) finally climbed out of the cellar, finishing in the sixth spot, 37 1/2 games back. Their record was 52 wins and 85 losses. Frank McCormick was their helmsman for the year but they again failed to place any players at the top of any statistical categories.

1951 was the swan song for the O-I League. It also was true for the Phillies...they finished last again and placed no one at the top of any key stats, even in a four team league. Barney Lutz was their manager. As of this date, there has been no more professional Baseball in Lima, Ohio.
