Bologna won the first Serie A1 title in 1948 and has claimed titles since then in 1969, 1972, 1974, 1978, 1984, 2003, 2005 and 2009. The club is based in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna. They have also won the European Cup in 1973 and 1985.
