Liang-Kuei Shieh has been a player and umpire.
Shieh played for the Taiwan national team in the 1975 Asian Championship, 1983 Asian Championship and 1983 Intercontinental Cup as a 1B-OF. He later became an umpire, working the 1999 Intercontinental Cup, 2000 Olympics, 2001 Baseball World Cup, 2002 Intercontinental Cup, 2003 Baseball World Cup, 2004 Olympics, 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 World Baseball Classic, 2006 Intercontinental Cup, 2007 Baseball World Cup and 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament.
He was named IBAF Umpire of the Year in 2003.
