The Lewiston Indians were one of the original teams in the Pioneer League in 1939 and lasted just one season. Led by manager Herb Sanders, they posted a 53-71 record and finished in last place of the circuit's six clubs. Outfielder Mike Reser made the league's All-Star team, and pitcher Harold Erickson led the league with 193 strikeouts.
