Lew Groh got into two games in the major leagues in 1919, when he was 35 years old. He was one of the oldest players in the league but was not the oldest player who appeared for the 1919 Athletics that year.

Groh played third base in the field.

In 1920 he managed at Evansville.

He was the brother of Heinie Groh.
