Lew Carpenter, a knuckleballer who pitched in four major league games in 1943, didn't give up any runs. He gave up only one hit, but he did allow several walks.
Former Georgia Tech player Millie Thomas was interviewed and said that Lewis Carpenter later played for the Atlanta Crackers and broke the record for strikeouts. Oral History
