[edit] Biographical information
Leverette Spencer was a minor league pitcher who played in 1950 and from 1952 to 1961.
Spencer went 135-102 over his 11-year career, winning as many as 22 games in a season (1956). He surpassed the 15-win mark six times. Records are incomplete, however is appears he was a solid hitter, for a pitcher. He hit around .245, also spending some time in the outfield.
He managed the Winona A's for part of 1958, replacing Burl Storie and being replaced by Lew Krausse.
