Leslie O'Connor was a longtime secretary to Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis from 1921 to 1944 . O'Connor also served as the General Manager of the Chicago White Sox from 1945 through 1948 and the president of the Pacific Coast League from 1956 to 1959.
O'Connor served in the Army during World War I. Assigned to the Judge Advocate's department, he was assistant council in a case before Judge Landis. As a lawyer, he negotiated the indemnity settlement for the PCL in the invasion of the San Francisco and Los Angeles markets by the National League. He also served as an attorney for the American Association in the appropriation of its Minneapolis-St. Paul territory.
