Wisconsin native Les Bartholomew spent five active seasons in professional baseball from 1927 to 1932. During his time in the game, Les had two chances in the Major Leagues. His first came with the 1928 Pittsburgh Pirates when he appeared in six games with no decisions and his second try came with the 1932 Chicago White Sox, appearing in three games with no decisions.
Les was active in the minor leagues from 1927 to 1930 and built a 32-35 career record while appearing in 101 games. 1929 appears to be his best season when he went 12-12 while pitching 205 innings in 40 games for the Omaha Crickets of the class A Western League.
Lester Justin Bartholomew worked in the sheet metal business after his baseball years and died at his home at the age of 69 in Barrington, IL on September 19, 1972.
