Catcher Leo Mackey played in the minor leagues from 1922 to 1935. He spent 1924-1929 in the Southern Association and the rest of his career in the lower minors.
Mackey was suspended indefinately in 1939 for bumping an umpire. 22 year-old catcher Joe Agee was sent to replace him.
Mackey also scouted for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1942-1948 and the Chicago Cubs in 1951. He died after a long illness at age 69.
