Len Gabrielson played nine seasons in the major leagues, mostly during the second dead-ball era.
Signed by the Milwaukee Braves in 1959, he came up to the majors for the first time in 1960. He played with five different major league teams, mostly as an outfielder. His peak year was 1968 when he hit .270 while the league hit .243.
When Gabrielson hit 10 home runs for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1968, he led the team in the "Year of the Pitcher". It is the lowest total for a team leader in the time since the Dodgers came to Los Angeles. He also hit .270 that year, while the team as a whole hit .230.
He is the son of Len Gabrielson, Sr., a first baseman who appeared in the majors in 1939.
