[edit] Biographical Information

Lee DeMontreville, who was 18 months younger than his brother Gene DeMontreville, broke into the majors nearly 10 years later than Gene did, at a time when Gene's career was almost over. Both of them were infielders, with Lee playing mostly shortstop at the major league level. Dave Brain was the regular shortstop in 1903 when Lee had his chance with the St. Louis Cardinals.

While playing for Syracuse in 1901, he and half the team are injured in a trolley car accident in May. Lee is out for the rest of the season.
