Pitcher Lee Howard spent three years in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater of War from 1943 to 1945, during World War II.
Howard pitched five total games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1946 and 1947. He pitched three games in 1946, and two games in 1947. He was 0-1 in 1946, and had no decisions in 1947.
Howard spent five active seasons between 1942 and 1949 in the minor leagues with a 39-33 record in 151 games while pitching 668 innings. His best season came in 1947 when he went 13-6 for the Selma Cloverleafs of the class B Southeastern League.
