The Leaf Candy Company produced one of the first "modern" sets of baseball cards in 1948 along with Bowman. By 1950 Leaf stopped making cards. In 1983 Leaf Candy Company acquired Donruss and by the late '80s started producing cards under the Leaf name, as well as the Donruss name.
