 Biographical Information
First baseman Larry Barton played minor league baseball from 1932 to 1956, collecting 3,045 hits with 299 HR, 177 SB, and a .288 AVG in 3,020 games. He led the 1949 Western International League with 132 RBI, his only season over 100.
Barton was a player/manager between 1950 and 1956. Barton scouted for the Cincinnati Reds from 1968 to 1979. His son Larry Barton Jr. played minor league ball in 1963-1964 and also scouted for the Reds.
