Komadai Tomakomai
From BR Bullpen
Komadai Tomakomai (駒大苫小牧) (also known as Komawaza University Tomakomai High School), located in Tomakomai, Hokkaido was the first high school in the Hokkaido/Tohoku area to win the Summer Koshien tournament, doing so in 2004. They then proceeded to win back-to-back championships being only the 6th school ever to do so. Their run at back-to-back-to-back championships ended in dramatic fashion in 2006 when ace Saitou Yuuki and Waseda Jitsugyo pitched the games of the ages with a 15 inning, 1-1 tie the first day, and Waseda holding on 4-3 the next day. In that third attempt, Tanaka Masahiro was trying to be one of the few players to be on a 3-time champion team. Naoya Washiya also was part of the 2005 team.
