[edit] Biographical Information
If Kim Batiste is remembered at all, most fans' memory of Batiste is his play in Game 1 of the 1993 NLCS. He entered the game as a defensive replacement for Dave Hollins at 3B in the 9th inning, with the underdog Philadelphia Phillies clinging to a 3-2 lead over the Atlanta Braves. He promptly threw the ball into right field on what should have been an easy double play grounder, allowing the Braves to push across the tying run. But he redeemed himself by driving in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
He played in the minors and independent leagues for several years after his last big league appearance in 1996.
