Pitcher Ken Robinson was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 1991 amateur draft and reached the majors in 1995, appearing in 21 games as a member of the Jays bullpen. In 1996, he had a cup of coffee with the Kansas City Royals. He returned to the Blue Jays organization, and the next season, he spent most of the year with the Syracuse Sky Chiefs, where he went 7-7 with a 3.56 ERA. He also appeared in three games with Toronto in 1997, allowing just one hit (Cecil Fielder's 300th career homer). Robinson was waived by the Jays after that season and signed by the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks. However, he missed the entire 1998 campaign due to shoulder surgery.
On February 28th, 1999, prior to Spring Training, Robinson was killed in an auto accident in Arizona. His teammate John Rosengren, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with second-degree murder in the alcohol-related accident.
