Ken Szotkiewicz played one season in the big leagues. A shortstop, he appeared in 47 games for the 1970 Detroit Tigers at age 23. Cesar Gutierrez was the starting shortstop that year for the Tigers. Gutierrez lost his job in 1971 to Ed Brinkman, who kept it from 1971-74.
Szotkiewicz had come out of Georgia Southern University, which he attended at the same time as Vic Correll.
When he wasn't in the majors, he was in the minors from 1968-74. He had a couple knee operations.
