Ken Rowe pitched three years in the major leagues with a 3.57 ERA. In 1963, he was a 29-year-old rookie on the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers, going 1-1 in 14 games with a 2.93 ERA. In 1964 and 1965 he appeared in 6 games each year for the Baltimore Orioles.

He was originally signed by the Detroit Tigers before the 1953 season. In 1962, Rowe pitched in Spokane, going 9-9 with a 3.44 ERA in seventy relief outings. In 1964 with Spokane he broke the record for pitching appearances in one season.

In 1968, Rowe managed the Bluefield Orioles and in 1969-71, he managed the Aberdeen Pheasants of the Northern League in the Orioles organization. He coached at the major league level in 1985 and 1986 with the Baltimore Orioles.

Moving from the Orioles organization to the Cleveland Indians, he was pitching coach for the Buffalo Bisons of the International League in 1999-2000, then coached for the Kinston Indians of the Carolina League in 2003.

In 2004, Marty Brown, International League Manager of the Year with Buffalo, credited Rowe with turning the staff around when Rowe took over the pitching coach duties in June. Rowe has been the pitching coach with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the New York-Penn League since 2006.
