[edit] Biographical Information

Ken Huckaby was the All-Star catcher in the 2001 Baseball World Cup, hitting .429/.474/.486. He also played first base in place of Ben Broussard when Josh Bard caught.

He is possibly best known for a collision with Derek Jeter on 31 March, 2003, that caused Jeter to miss six weeks while recovering from a dislocated shoulder. It came when the infield had shifted for a Jason Giambi at-bat: Giambi grounded out to the pitcher, Jeter tried to go from first to third, but Huckaby collided with him there and tagged him out.
