Ken Daneyko played over 1,200 games as a NHL defenseman, setting the New Jersey Devils franchise record. He signed a one-day contract with the Newark Bears of the Atlantic League in 2003. The 39-year-old was put in the starting lineup at DH. He grounded out in his only at-bat before rain ended the game, costing him a chance at officially appearing in a professional baseball game.
