Ken Pape appeared in 21 games with the 1976 Texas Rangers. In the field, he played shortstop, second and third.
Pape was born in San Antonio, TX and attended high school there. He was at the University of Texas at the same time as a number of other future major leaguers, the most prominent of which were Burt Hooton, Dave Chalk and Keith Moreland.
He began in the minors in 1973 and had an eight-year minor league career. He managed in the minors in 1981-82.
With the Rangers, he was a year younger than teammate Jeff Burroughs.
In a 2010 article, it was stated that he and his brother have a landscape company. For nearly 15 years he also acted as a hitting instructor.
