Karsten Whitson was a first-round pick by the San Diego Padres, going 9th overall in the 2010 amateur draft. Whitson threw a fastball in the mid-90s as well as a breaking ball and changeup. Whitson decided not to sign with the Padres instead went to school at the University of Florida.
