The Kansas City T-Bones minor league baseball team is based out of Kansas City, Kansas and play in CommunityAmerica Ballpark. They have played in the Northern League since 2003. They play in the same metropolitan area as the American League's Kansas City Royals, who are based in Kansas City, Missouri. The T-Bones qualified for the 2008 playoffs by finishing 4th in the six-team league, and won the Northern League championship, winning six of seven post-season games. After a second-place finish in the eight-team league in 2010, they won the first round of the playoffs and were beaten in the final round.

In October 2010, the T-Bones and three other teams (Fargo-Moorhead, Gary, and Winnipeg) left the Northern League to join the American Association.
