Kansai Independent League

The Kansai Independent League was formed in Japan in 2008, with the first games being played in March 2009. [1] The four team league is designed to be a farm system for the larger Japanese baseball teams. [2]
Notable players include Eri Yoshida, the first female pro player in Japan.

As of March 2009, the league has four teams. The Kishu Rangers play in Wakayama Prefecture [3], the Kobe 9 Cruise in Kobe, the Osaka Gold Villicanes in Osaka, and the Akashi Red Soldiers.
