The Kannapolis Intimidators of the South Atlantic League have been an affiliate of the Chicago White Sox since 2001. They play their home games at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The Intimidators won the 2005 league championship.

The club was previously called the Piedmont Boll Weevils. After the 2000 season, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt (nicknamed "The Intimidator") became a part owner of the club, and in 2001 the team was renamed the Intimidators in his honor.
