[edit] Team History
The Kalamazoo Kings are a minor league baseball team from Kalamazoo, MI. The Kings were brought into the independent Frontier League in 2001 as an expansion team by local Kalamazoo businessman Bill Wright. The Kings filled the gap left by the departure of the Kalamazoo Kodiaks following the 1998 season. By their mission statement, The Kalamazoo Kings are dedicated to being champions on and off the field. Kings players, owners and managers are involved in mentoring, motivational speaking, fundraising, and school reading programs, as well as hosting and operating the Challenger Little League Program. The Kalamazoo Kings have intentionally created an environment where the fans and families of southwest Michigan can experience great baseball at an affordable price, in as setting where Baseball can act as stewardship to the community.
Games are broadcast on WQSN 1660 AM
