The 'Mighty Mox' (1120 AM) was the radio flagship for the St. Louis Cardinals for 50 years from 1956-2005. The Cardinals relocated on the airwaves in what many considered to be a controversial move to KTRS (550 AM). The move gave the Cardinals 50% ownership of KTRS but decreased the listening range of fans as KMOX was audible throughout the midwest and reaching as far as Texas when the conditions were right.
