Infielder Junior Noboa was signed as a free agent for the Cleveland Indians by scouts Hector Acevedo and Luis Isaac on May 26, 1981.

In 2011, Noboa is the "Special Assistant to the GM/Director, Latin American Ops" for the Arizona Diamondbacks, a position he has held since at least 2008. He coached for the Dominican Republic in the 2009 World Baseball Classic. He has also scouted for the Diamondbacks. He scouted Emilio Bonifacio, Wilkin Castillo, Jordan Norberto, Danny Richar, Leyson Septimo, Pedro Ciriaco, Sammy De Los Santos, Ramon Castillo and Yonata Ortega.
