Infielder Junior Noboa was signed as a free agent for the Cleveland Indians by scouts Hector Acevedo and Luis Isaac on May 26, 1981.

In 2008, Noboa is the "Special Assistant to the GM/Director, Latin American Ops" for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He coached for the Dominican Republic in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
