Julio Mosquera hit .438 for Panama in the 1999 Pan American Games to finish fifth in average. He batted .333/.371/.636 with 7 RBI in 9 games for Panama in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. His 3 home runs tied Evert-Jan 't Hoen for second, one behind Chin-Feng Chen. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he hit .257/.282/.286 but threw out five of seven would-be base-stealers as Panama won its first Silver medal ever.
