Julio Alfredo Martínez Wong

Julio Martinez has pitched for the Pinar del Rio Tobacco Growers.

Martinez debuted in 2007-2008, allowing 13 runs (12 earned) in 18 1/3 IP, walking 18. In the 2008 World Junior Championship, he tossed a complete game win over host Canada and Evan Grills; Cuba finished with a Bronze Medal. He did not pitch in the Cuban Serie Nacional in 2008-2009. He returned in 2009-2010 to go 1-2 with a 4.23 ERA. In 2010-2011, he had a 6-1, 4.05 record in the regular season. In the finals, he got the start in game two and blanked the Ciego de Avila Tigers for five innings before a Rusney Castillo 3-run homer; Pinar del Rio won, 4-3.
