Julio Gotay played ten years in the majors. He got over 300 at-bats in a season only in 1962, when he was the regular shortstop for the 1962 St. Louis Cardinals.
Yuyín played for the Mayagüez Indians, Ponce Lions and Santurce Crabbers of the Puerto Rican Winter Baseball League. He is the uncle of Ruben Gotay.
