[edit] Biographical Information
Julio Bonetti is one of the few Italian-born major leaguers. He was in the majors three seasons, in 1937-38 and 1940. He was also with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1938. Both his debut and his last major league game were on April 22.
He set a record in 1940 for the fewest pitches in a complete game victory when he threw 66 pitches for the minor league Los Angeles Angels, beating the Oakland Oaks.
He was, at one point, made ineligible to play the game due to having an alleged association with gamblers.
