Catcher Jui-Chang Chen is the brother of Jui-Chen Chen, his longtime teammate on the Brother Elephants (what other team would make sense for a brother duo?).
Chen played for Taiwan in the 1991 World Junior Championship and was a teammate of his brother in the 1995 Asian Championship. He turned pro in 1996 and hit .228/.297/.335 for the Elephants. In 1997, he batted .259/.324/.316. The next year, his batting line was .262/.307/.385. He hit .258/.327/.385 in 1999 and won a Gold Glove at catcher the same year his brother won one at second base.
In 2000, Chen hit .283/.359/.376, followed by a .253/.282/.313 line in '01. During 2002, Jui-Chang batted .356/.410/.443. In '03, he hit .242/.318/.306 (with his second Gold Glove) followed by .215/.296/.304 in 2004, when he also served as team captain.
Chen hit .290/.361/.389 in 2005 and .243/.291/.307 in 2006. In the 2007 CPBL, his batting line was .302/.349/.354. He had another good year in 2008, batting .293/.357/.407. Like his brother, he became a player-coach in 2009.
