Juan Rios appeared in 87 games for the 1969 Kansas City Royals, in their inaugural year in Kansas City. Rios backed up second base and shortstop and also played a little at third.
Signed as a free agent by the New York Mets in 1965, he played in their minor league organization through 1968. The Montreal Expos drafted him away from the Mets but in late March of 1969 the Royals bought him from the Expos. He was in the majors all of 1969.
He then played in the minors from 1970-74 in the organizations of several major league teams.
His nickname was "Chito".
