Josh Ryan Papelbon

Josh Papelbon is the twin brother of Jeremy Papelbon and the brother of Jonathan Papelbon.

Josh set a University of North Florida record with 24 saves in his career. He made the 2005 Division II College World Series All-Tournament team. He was picked in the 48th round of the 2006 amateur draft by the Boston Red Sox, 29 rounds after his twin brother had been picked. Josh debuted professionally with the Lowell Spinners, going 0-2 with 13 saves and a 1.86 ERA. He struck out 36 and walked 6 in 29 innings of work. In 2007, Papelbon was 5-8 with 18 saves and a 3.91 ERA for the Greenville Drive; opponents hit .289 against him. He pitched 62 games, leading the South Atlantic League.
