Jose Adames Lugo

Jose Lugo is a minor league baseball relief pitcher currently on the Seattle Mariners 40-man roster.

He began his professional career in 2005, playing for the AZL Athletics, with whom he went 2-3 with a 5.23 ERA in 15 games (five starts). Lugo was acquired by the the Minnesota Twins organization in the Rule V Draft following the 2005 season. He split 2006 between the Elizabethton Twins and Beloit Snappers, going 8-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 13 games started with Elizabethton and 1-4 with a 4.45 ERA in 22 relief appearances with the Snappers. With Beloit again in 2007, he went 5-6 with a 4.32 ERA in 40 games (seven starts). In 2008, he pitched for the Fort Myers Miracle, making 51 relief appearances and going 2-6 with a 4.04 ERA. On December 11, 2008, he was acquired by the Kansas City Royals in the Rule V Draft, and on that same day he was traded to the Mariners for cash considerations.
