[edit] Biographical Information

Nicknamed "Cheito", versatile José Oquendo is probably best known for being one of the few players in major league history to have played all nine positions in one season, which he pulled off in 1988.

After retiring as a player, he was manager of the New Jersey Cardinals in 1998 and has been third base coach for the St. Louis Cardinals since 1999. He had to miss the 2016 season after recovering from knee surgery. He was also the manager of Puerto Rico for the 2006 World Baseball Classic and managed them agian in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
