Jorge Comellas was the #2 pitcher for the 1937 Salisbury Indians who forfeited 21 wins to make their record 0-26, yet still won the pennant. Comellas was 22-1 with 204 strikeouts in 206 IP with 18 CG for Salisbury. Teammate Joe Kohlman was the star pitcher in the league that year.
His minor league career ran from 1936-49, with around 140 victories.
With the 1945 Cubs he was the same age as teammate Phil Cavarretta. Jorge got into seven games with the Cubs, and had a problem with lack of control as he gave up six walks in twelve innings of work.
