Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida is the spring training home of the Detroit Tigers. The park is also home of their Class A Florida State League farm club, the Lakeland Flying Tigers and their rookie league affiliate, the GCL Tigers. Named after Lakeland's former parks director, the ballpark opened in 1966. It originally had a capacity of 4,900 and, after later expansions, currently seats over 8,000. The ballpark underwent a major renovation before the start of spring training in 2017, with $48 million of improvements being made to the facility.
