From 1984-1990, Verhoeven ran the Grand Slam USA Baseball Academy in Anaheim, CA. Was the pitching coach at California State University, Dominguez Hills (1991-1994), Pepperdine University (1996), and Loyola Marymount University (1997). Has been the head coach at Biola University since 1997.
