[edit] Biographical Information
The brother of Bill Traffley, John Traffley was a semipro baseball player. When the 1889 Louisville Colonels came to Baltimore, MD in 1889 to face the Orioles, a few Colonels refused to play when manager Mordecai Davidson said he would fine players $25 for each loss. Davidson quickly hired some local semipros like Traffley to play. John went 1 for 2 and was released after the striking players returned. He later died of a head injury from an accident.
