[edit] Biographical Information

Pitcher John Rosengren was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 23rd round of the 1992 amateur draft and began his pro career that summer. In 1997 he reached AAA, playing for the Toledo Mud Hens, and went 1-3 with a 3.99 ERA out of the bullpen. However, he was released after that season. He signed with the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks but missed the entire 1998 campaign after undergoing surgery.

On February 28th, 1999, prior to Spring Training, Rosengren's teammate Ken Robinson was killed in an auto accident in Arizona. Rosengren, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with second-degree murder in the alcohol-related accident.
