[edit] Biographical Information
Catcher John Mizerock was selected by the Houston Astros in the first round of the 1979 amateur draft. After several seasons managing in the minors, he became the Kansas City Royals bullpen coach in 2002. He spent part of that season as interim manager, going 5-8 in 13 games before Tony Pena was hired. He was the Royals third base coach in 2003 and 2004. After the 2006 season, Mizerock became skipper of the Wilmington Blue Rocks. On October 23, 2007, he was named the Kansas City Royals bullpen coach for 2008.
