[edit] Biographical Information

Catcher John Mizerock was selected by the Houston Astros in the first round of the 1979 amateur draft.

After several seasons managing in the minors, he became the Kansas City Royals bullpen coach in 2002. He spent part of that season as interim manager, going 5-8 in 13 games before Tony Pena was hired. He was the Royals third base coach in 2003 and 2004. After the 2006 season, Mizerock became skipper of the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Mizerock was the Kansas City Royals bullpen coach in 2008 and 2009. He was a coach for the Clearwater Threshers in 2011-2013. In 2014, he moved up to the parent Philadelphia Phillies as assistant hitting coach.
