[edit] Biographical Information
Skins Jones had one of the most unusual major league careers, coming up briefly in 1923 with the Philadelphia Athletics and then not showing up again in the majors until 9 years later in 1932, again with the Philadelphia Athletics. He missed some of the greatest years in Athletics' history which were in between in 1929-31.
He attended Penn State from 1920-23, and was presumably part of the Penn State team's 30 game winning streak in 1920 and 1921. Hinkey Haines was also on the team in 1921.
Family information: Sister named Florence also deceased, nephew Andrew Jones and niece Betty Regener (both deceased). Surviving relatives as of early 2007 include Andrew Jones Family most in Coatesville, as well as Regener family in Coatesville, Florida and California.
He was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in his hometown of Coatesville.
