John Jacob Farrow was a right handed catcher and second baseman for the 1873 Elizabeth Resolutes and 1874 Brooklyn Atlantics. He appeared at second base more times for the Atlantics than any other player. He played 55 games in his brief career. He totaled 45 hits, 228 AB, .197 BA, .211 OBP, and .224 SLG. He returned for a final season in 1884 at the age of 30 with the American Association version of the Brooklyn Atlantics.
He also appears in a box score in a 1876 game between the Elizabeth Resolutes (no longer a major league team and the 1876 Cincinnati Reds. He batted fifth, getting two hits off of Cherokee Fisher.
He managed at Newark in 1885.
After a long illness, he died at the end of 1914 at his son's house in New Jersey.
