Pitcher John Doherty had a couple good seasons for some very average early 1990s Detroit Tigers teams. He is best remembered in Detroit for being at the receiving end of a leaping karate kick from Sandy Alomar Jr. in a game at Tiger Stadium during the summer of 1992.
