John Burrows pitched during wartime in the major leagues in 1943 and 1944, getting in most of his games with the 1943 Chicago Cubs. He closed out 12 games, third on the team that year behind Ray Prim and Hank Wyse, both of whom finished 14 games. Burrows was a 29-year-old rookie in 1943.
He pitched in 1935 for Alexandria in the Evangeline League, going 14-17. He also pitched for Nashville after being with the Cubs in 1944.
